This is expected, as documented in https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/xlsformexpressions.htm. The expressions in the readonly column are not supported in the web app (note that a value of 'yes' in the readonly column is honoured in the web app).

Workaround

Read-only questions from ArcGIS Survey123 Connect survey form work in the ArcGIS Survey123 application.
