The Story Map Spyglass application template fails to create applications with the following error, "Sorry, swipe loading failed," when referencing two different web maps that have a matching custom basemap with certain scales and a projection that does not have a spatial reference of 102100.

This issue is not reproducible in the current version of the app.

Workaround

Use a cached basemap with the 102100 projection. Or Do not use a tiling scheme with very detailed scales.
