Correct text files default to defining text fields as 8000 to support interoperability workflows with ArcGIS Online. The size can be controlled via a 'schema.ini' if desired. - Right-click the table and export the table.
- In the Export Table dialog box, go to each field Properties and manually change the length of each field.
