Selecting an input raster from the drop-down menu in the Make Raster Layer geoprocessing tool returns the error message "Error 003401: Invalid or unsupported input raster" because the input raster box requires the full location path, which the drop-down menu does not provide.

Workaround

1. Use the Browse button next to the input raster box to select the raster layer successfully.
2. Manually adding the full folder path before the raster layer name after selecting it from the drop-down menu also allows the layer to be used as the input raster.
