Map Package geoprocessing tool fails and returns the error message "ERROR 000260: General Function failure" when sharing a map package with attribute rule expressions.

Workaround

Removing the attribute rule completely, as disabling the attribute rule does not suffice, allows the Map Package tool to run successfully. After successful execution, manually re-add the attribute rule expressions to include the attribute rule in the final package.
