If a Portal for ArcGIS and standalone ArcGIS Server are hosted on the same web server and there are duplicate built-in accounts in both the portal and server, adding a secured service to the portal results in a login loop.

Workaround

• Ensure that the passwords for the built-in portal account and the built-in server account do not match.
• Alternatively, use a different server account to connect to the service that doesn't have credentials that match a portal built-in account.
