File geodatabases included in the ArcGIS Pro project templates show red exclamation marks when the project template is saved to a shared network drive.

Workaround

  1. Delete the problematic database from the ArcGIS Pro database.
  2. Under 'Databases', right-click and select 'Add Database'.
  3. Navigate to the following location: C:\Users\<user_name>\Documents\ArcGIS\Projects\<project_name>
  4. Select the problematic database and select OK.
  5. Click on the database now, there is no red exclamation mark.
