Workaround

If the data is going to be used outside of an Esri software, use the following editing workflow instead of edge snapping:

1. Identify the feature to snap to.
2. Edit the vertices of the feature.
3. Add a vertex to the point along the edge to snap to.
4. Use vertex snapping instead of edge snapping when creating the new feature.
