Workaround

Models that contain the Quick Export tool that were created using ArcGIS 9.3.1 will function properly in ArcGIS 10 (i.e., the Output Dataset can be specified). Therefore, these 9.3.1 models can be copied and edited for use in ArcGIS 10. Additionally, the Quick Export tools inside these 9.3.1 models can be copied into new models that are created using ArcGIS 10. Copy Toolbox and Model workaround steps: 1. Copy the 9.3.1 toolbox that contains the model that contains the Quick Export tool 2. Paste the toolbox into a folder 3. Rename the toolbox and model (optional) 4. Select the model, right-click and click Edit 5. Double-click the Quick Export tool to open the Quick Export dialog box 6. Specify the appropriate Input Layer or layers (click the Input Layer's dropdown box and select an Input layer(s) or click the Browse button to browse and select an input layer(s)) and click OK 7. Click the Output Dataset's ellipses button to open the Specify Data Destination dialog box 8. Specify the output dataset format (click the dropdown box to select a format or click the ellipses button to open the FME Writer Gallery to view additional formats to select) 9. Specify the output dataset location and click OK 10. Click OK to close the Quick Export dialog box 11. If required, connect the Quick Export tool to other tools in the model 12. Save the model 13. Run the model Copy Quick Export tool into Model workaround steps: 1. In the Catalog window, browse to a folder 2. Click the folder, right-click and click New > Toolbox 3. Click the Toolbox, right-click and click New > Model (a new Model window will open) 4. Open a 9.3.1 model that contains the Quick Export tool 5. Select the Quick Export tool in the 9.3.1 model, right-click and click Copy 6. Switch to the new model, right-click and click Paste to add the Quick Export tool 7. Double-click the Quick Export tool to open the Quick Export dialog box 8. Specify the appropriate Input Layer or layers (click the Input Layer’s dropdown box and select an input layer(s) or click the Browse button to browse and select an input layer(s)) and click OK 9. Click the Output Dataset's ellipses button to open the Specify Data Destination dialog box 10. Specify the output dataset format (click the dropdown box to select a format or click the ellipses button to open the FME Writer Gallery to view additional formats to select) 11. Specify the output dataset location and click OK 12. Click OK to close the Quick Export dialog box 13. If required, connect the Quick Export tool to other tools in the model 14. Save the model 15. Run the model NOTE: ArcGIS 10 Pre-Release Models that contain the Quick Export tool can also be used as a workaround following the same steps described above. NIM0568671 is fixed with the ArcGIS Data Interoperability 10.0 SP1 extension release. Here is the link: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/patches-and-service-packs?fa=viewPatch&PID=83&MetaID=1787
