Follow on of the options below:

• Store the table in a file geodatabase instead of an ArcSDE geodatabase.
• Export the event layer to a feature class to the ArcSDE geodatabase.
• Create a spatial view from the ArcSDE table that builds a geometry column on-the-fly and use this in lieu of the event layer.
