An errant successful result message is returned from running a script tool on a geoprocessing tool interface in ArcGIS Pro that does not reflect the non-execute access of the ArcGIS Pro's active Python environment.

The Windows permission model by default nests the 'Read & execute,' 'List folder contents,' and 'Read' permissions together: if the user disables the first permission, the result is disabling all three of the permissions. Because this state is only achievable from a specifically deployed group policy, it is the responsibility of the group policy maintainer to map the permissions in a way that is consistent with the desired use case.

Workaround

Activate the Python environment residing in the location that allows the execute permission.
