Identify edges with uninitialized and indeterminate flow in a geometric network

Instructions provided demonstrate examining a geometric network for edges with uninitialized and indeterminate flow.

Note:
This article applies to retired ArcGIS versions 8.x and 9.x. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.

Procedure

  1. On the Utility Network Analyst toolbar, click Flow and click Properties.
  2. In the Flow Display Properties dialog box, click the Arrow Symbol tab.
  3. In the Flow category list, select Indeterminate flow and observe the indeterminate flow symbol on the large button to the right of the list.
  4. In the Flow category list, select Uninitialized flow and observe the uninitialized flow symbol on the large button to the right of the list. If necessary, change the uninitialized flow symbol to be different than the indeterminate flow symbol by clicking the large button to the right of the list and choosing a symbol in the symbol selector dialog box.
  5. Click OK on the Flow Display Properties dialog box.
  6. On the Utility Network Analyst toolbar, click Flow and click Display Arrows to draw the flow direction arrows.
