| [ARCVIEW-L] [Fwd: ArcGIS 9.3 and Nasa MrSID] |
| 2009-10-28 11:51:00.0 |
| Hello ESRIGISseters,
I just installed ArcGIS 9.3 Build 1770. In my *.mxd projects the MrSID images downloaded from the NASA zulu site do not align with the rest of my data of southern Chile and Argentina. Everything aligns fine in 9.2 and in ArcView 3.2 but in ArcExplorer 2.0 there is a 3,000 km distance N/S and in 9.3 it is 10,000 km N/S. It appears not to recognize the Y shift in WGS 1984 UTM Zone 19S. Thanks, bruce ..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.: Bruce D. | [ARCVIEW-L] SUM: ArcGIS Tools problem |
| 2009-10-28 11:20:00.0 |
| Hello ESRIArcGISGISsters,
It appears my problems were Windows XP and Java related. I deleted a Java dll and running this line in start/run: "regsvr32 jscript.dll" solved the problem. I did get some helpfull answers but they didn“t solve, but could help others with similar problems. Thanks!!!! bruce }}}}}}}}}} This may or may not help, but you could try removing your ArcMap Tool layout. Delete (or move to a different location) this file: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\ESRI\ArcMap\Templates\Normal.mxt Where UserName is the Windows account you login as. Paul Wickman North Star Geographics pwickman@northstargeographics.com 612.280.5850 }}}}}}}}}}}}} Before you reinstalled, did you delete the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\ESRI folder. Paul mentioned deleting the Normal.mxt, but when I do a cleanup after a class, or when things go squirrelly, I delete the entire SERI folder under the application folder. This has settings for ArcMap, ArcCatalog, etc, and after you get rid of this, ArcMap rebuilds all these to the defaults. John Schaeffer {{{{{{{{{{{ By arctools you mean ArcToolbox ? Is it possible the tool is working OK and there is something about the data causing fields to be greyed out ? Feel free to send me screenshots of the problem if that helps. Worst case, something might have clobbered a dll or caused a registry problem. If so, may have to uninstall and reinstall ArcGIS. If you've already done that, not sure what else to suggest, other than a system rebuild. If you're experiencing other system performance problems, that may be the way to go. - Miguel Garriga www.GeographicSystems.com 407-261-0451, 321-279-6019 cel {{{{{{{{{{ Are your Service Pack intallations up to date? I seem to recall that one of the later 9.2 Service Packs fixed a disappearing Toolbox issue for us that was originally caused by a conflict with Internet Explorer 8 (or one of the components installed by it). Here's the last Service Pack for 9.2 on ESRI's site: http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=downloads.patchesServicePacks.viewPatch&PID=66&MetaID=1410 Good luck! Recently things started getting very slow, so I ran Hijacthis to remove many of the background processes that were stealing memory. This is a freeware to remove spyware and other processes. I have done this from time to time for years without problems. This time I have lost my ability to use arctools. On the tool window the locations to load data for example in "Feature Class to Geodatabase" shows a gray field and then above it "label". Most other areas but not all are grayed out. I tried reinstalling, restoring in Hijacthis the processes I deleted, restoring to last good configuration in Windows XP, updating Java, etc All to no avail. What may I have removed and what do I need to do to replace it. Thanks, bruce ..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.: Bruce D.
