This technical document illustrates ArcGIS 8.1's linear referencing and dynamic segmentation capabilities. Both the out-of-the-box functionality and application programming interface (API) level support are discussed. Where necessary, sample code is provided and discussed. A good understanding of ArcGIS is recommended before trying to apply the concepts contained in this document.
