Date Submitted: May 19, 2009
Last Modified: May 19, 2009

Summary:

This patch provides an update to the ESRI.ArcGIS.ADF.Connection assembly. There are no fixes in this patch that specifically address problems with ArcGIS Engine or ArcGIS Desktop. If you have developed custom applications that reference this assembly, please install the patch on all systems where the custom application is deployed so that the latest version is being used.

Description:

Important Note: Please refer to technical article How to: Configure ArcGIS Server REST API for the Microsoft .NET Framework to improve stability and performance, for detailed instructions that describe a recommended best practice for configuring the ArcGIS Server REST API for the Microsoft .NET Framework. This configuration improves the performance and reliability of ArcGIS Server REST Web services.

Introduction

ESRI® announces the ArcGIS 9.3.1 (Server.NET) REST Services Patch. This patch addresses cases where, under heavy load, adding additional SOC machines does not improve performance when using REST services. We recommend that all who use .NET REST services, download and install this Patch at their earliest convenience to ensure the highest quality experience when working with ArcGIS 9.3.1. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
