Description

ESRIĀ® announces the ArcGIS Desktop 9.1 ArcMap Drawing Errors Dialog Suppression Patch. ArcGIS Desktop 9.1 introduced a new drawing errors dialog in the ArcMap application that provides feedback to the user when certain features fail to draw. While this feedback is typically important, there may be special cases when you wish to suppress drawing error messages and prevent the dialog from appearing. This patch changes ArcMap so that the drawing errors dialog can be suppressed based on an entry in the Windows registry. We recommend that any user who currently experiences workflow difficulties caused by the ArcMap Drawing Errors dialog download and install this Patch. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

Please note that installing this patch will not directly alter the behavior or visibility of the ArcMap Drawing Errors dialog. Suppression of the drawing errors dialog will only happen if you both install the patch and enable the suppression setting inside the Windows Registry. For instructions on enabling dialog suppression, see the ESRI Support Knowledge Base article entitled: HowTo: Suppress the ArcMap Drawing Errors dialog in ArcGIS Desktop 9.1.
