Description:
The ArcView 3.x Windows XP patch resolves the following problems for ArcView 3.2, 3.2a, and 3.3 users on Windows XP (Home Edition and Professional). The ArcView 3.x Windows XP patch requires that you have ArcView 3.2, 3.2a, or 3.3.
- Using the ArcView Identify tool in ArcView 3.2 or 3.2a may cause an error message that cannot be closed without first exiting ArcView. This issue has been fixed in ArcView 3.3, but not for ArcView 3.2 or 3.2a.
- "Cut" and "Copy" functions not working in the Script Editor window with ArcView 3.2, 3.2a, 3.3 on Windows XP.
- DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) not working with ArcView 3.2, 3.2a, and 3.3 on Windows XP. This also caused errors to occur when using the ModelBuilder application in ArcView Spatial Analyst 2.0a.
- When closing ArcView on Windows XP with the ArcView 3D Analyst extension enabled, ArcView has to be shut down through Task Manager.
Note: Before applying the patch to ArcView 3.2 or 3.2a, please ensure the compatibility mode for the ArcView application is not set. To check if the compatibility mode is set, right click on "arcview.exe" application file and choose properties. In the Properties dialog click on the Compatibility tab and make sure the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box is unchecked.
