This Service Pack contains performance improvements and maintenance fixes. Please download and install this required Service Pack at your earliest convenience.
A CD of this Service Pack is available for users who experience difficulties
downloading the Service Pack from the web site. Simply fill out the Request
a Service Pack CD order form.
We recommend that all ArcGIS 9.1 customers download and install this Service Pack, at their earliest convenience, to ensure the highest quality experience when working with ArcGIS 9.1.
NOTE: If you are using a localized version of ArcGIS, please contact your local distributor to get the updated language supplement.
A complete list of the issues that have been fixed in this service pack is available here.
A complete list of the Files installed in this service pack is available here.
It is important to keep the all versions of ArcGIS products installed on
a machine in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
To find out what products are currently installed on your machine, download
the ServicePackFinder91.exe utility
and run it from your local machine. This utility provides a report detailing
which ArcGIS products are currently installed on your machine. This will help
determine which product Service Packs you should install on your machine.
The report also details which service packs have been installed. The report
is displayed when the utility is run and a servicepack.txt log file is created
in your temp folder. The Service Pack Finder utility searches for the following
ArcGIS products.
ArcGIS Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcInfo) Includes the ArcReader
fixes for the ArcReader FEATURE.
ArcGIS Desktop Developer Kit
ArcGIS Engine Runtime
ArcGIS Engine Developer Kit
ArcGIS Server
ArcGIS Server .NET ADF
ArcGIS Server Java ADF
ArcGIS Tutorial Data
ArcReader standalone
ArcIMS
ArcSDE
NOTE (ArcIMS and ArcSDE users): If you use ArcIMS 9.1 or ArcSDE 9.1, you must also install ArcIMS 9.1 Service Pack 2 or ArcSDE 9.1 Service Pack 2 . For example, if you use ArcIMS 9.1 and ArcGIS 9.1 Desktop, install both ArcIMS 9.1 Service Pack 2 and ArcGIS 9.1 Desktop Service Pack 2. Since ArcIMS 9.1, ArcSDE 9.1 and the ArcGIS 9.1 products share common DLLs, it is important to keep the software release versions in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
NOTE (ArcGIS Server users): If you have ArcGIS Server 9.1 and any other ArcGIS product installed on your machine, we recommend that you install the ArcGIS 9.1 Server Service Pack before installing the remaining Service Packs. Since ArcGIS Server and the ArcGIS 9.1 products share common DLLs, it is important to keep the software release versions in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
NOTE (ArcView 9.1 Evaluation Edition users): This Service Pack is supported with the ArcView 9.1 Evaluation Edition.
NOTE (ArcGIS Server, Engine and Reader users on UNIX): This Service
Pack is only available on Windows; it is not available on the Sun or Linux
platform. Please note that the Windows 9.1 SP2 clients are fully compatible
with the Sun and Linux 9.1 servers for these products. Also, the 9.1 Sun
and Linux clients are compatible with the 9.1 SP 2 Windows servers.
If you are using ArcSDE data sources, you must apply the ArcSDE
9.1 SP 2 client install for your particular platform. Since the ArcGIS
9.1 products share common DLLs, it is important to keep the software release
versions in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
ArcGIS 9.1 must be installed before you can install this Service Pack. This Service Pack is cumulative and contains all fixes from the previous patches. If you already have a previous patch installed, you may apply this Service Pack over it to update the required files.
