Environmental regulators manage the boundary between human activity and the natural environment. The data model for this discipline involves regulated sites, such as a municipal landfill; facilities within that site such as dumps and incinerators; and agency interests in/interactions with the facilities.

Key state and national organizations are involved in the effort. This working group is starting from the Facility Identification Template for States (FITS) standard as the basis for developing the essential data model.

For more information on the Environmental Regulated Facilities data model contact Ross and Associates. Or visit the FITS standard site maintained by the Staff of State Services Organization at SSO.
