Installing this Service Pack

Windows, Unix and Linux Installation Notes:

  • It is important to keep all versions of ArcGIS products installed on the same machine in sync to avoid any software conflicts.

  • This Service Pack should be installed as the ArcGIS or ArcIMS product owner, i.e. the user owning the installation.

  • ArcSDE and ArcGIS Desktop users: If you use ArcIMS 10.0 and ArcSDE 10.0 or ArcGIS Desktop 10.0, you should also install ArcSDE 10.0 Service Pack 5 or ArcGIS 10,0 Service Pack 5. For example, if you use ArcIMS 10.0 and ArcSDE 10.0, install both ArcIMS 10.0 Service Pack 5 and ArcSDE 10.0 Service Pack 5. Since ArcIMS 10.0 , ArcSDE 10.0 and the ArcGIS 10.0 products share common DLLs, it is important to keep the software release versions in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
