Create or capture a digital screenshot

Summary

Instructions provided describe capturing a digital screenshot. This can assist in reporting software issues to Esri Technical Support.

Procedure

1. Click, to take a screenshot of a dialog box, on the title bar of the dialog box and verify it is the active window. Hold down the ALT key and press the 'Print Screen' key on the keyboard.
   
   To take a screenshot of the entire Windows desktop, press the 'Print Screen' button on the keyboard.
   
   

   Note:
   The Print Screen button is usually located to the right of the F12 key.

   
   
2. Navigate to Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > Paint.
3. Click the Paste button, or press Ctrl+V.
4. Save the screenshot by navigating to File > Save As. Change the 'Save as type' field to JPEG to create smaller image files.
