ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 is the final release of the ArcGIS Web Application Developer Framework (ADF) for both Microsoft .NET and Java. Esri continues to support the Web ADF during the 10.1 release cycle, but only fixes to critical issues are addressed. The following document addresses the issue in detail: Deprecation Plan for ArcGIS 10.1 and ArcGIS 10.2.

The following recommendations are alternative methods for developing web applications to be used with ArcGIS for Server and ArcGIS for Desktop.
