BUG

Issue with the Windows ArcGIS Engine 10.2.2 setup in the ArcGIS 10 SP5 - 10.2.2 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) PDF Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere Patch

Last Published: April 26, 2020

Description

When a user runs the Patchfinder utility after installing ArcGIS-1022-E-PWMAS-Patch.msp, Patchfinder alerts that the Desktop version of the patch is installed. This is due to an incorrect registry entry made by the patch setup. This issue does not affect, in any way, the use of the Windows ArcGIS Engine software. The registry key is only there for the specific use of the Patchfinder utility.

Cause

The installation issue with the Windows ArcGIS Engine setup is caused by
BUG-000082730; When installing the PDF Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere Patch for ArcGIS Engine, it is added to the registry with an ArcGIS Desktop Registry Key.

Workaround

Esri replaced the .msp file on the patch download page with a corrected setup on October 22, 2014. For users that have already downloaded and installed this file, Esri is providing a registry batch file that will update the Patchfinder registry key to be the appropriate Engine product name.
