Why am I getting the message, "Layer did not draw completely" in the ArcGIS Online map viewer?
As the message recommends, this issue can be resolved by zooming into the map or setting a visibility range for the layer. To maintain fast drawing speed and avoid the warning message, consider options to minimize the number of features being drawn by the Map Viewer at any given extent. For example, before publishing features from ArcMap, generalize the geometry of the dataset or set a visible scale range. In addition, set visibility ranges in the map viewer of ArcGIS Online.
Additionally, if the data does not need to be edited, tile services can be used for the web map layer instead of feature services. Tile services use images to display the data and a different type of request from the Map Viewer, so visualization is fast and not limited to a particular number of features. Tile layers are typically used to provide context for the operational layers of the map.
