How To: Create a provisioning file for software authorization

The instructions provided describe how to create a provisioning file. A provisioning file (.pvrc) is a text file that can be generated to prefill the authorization information in the Software Authorization Wizard and to save time by avoiding manual entry.

Procedure

Follow the steps below to create a provisioning file.

  1. Log into the Esri Customer Care portal.
  2. Under My Software, click Authorization and Provisioning.

  3. On the Authorization and Provisioning page, click the Provisioning tab.

  4. Click the 'new provisioning file' button.

  5. Under Core Products, select the appropriate Version and License Type.

  6. Depending on the version and license type selected, choose the core product the .pvrc file is for and the number of allocations.

    Warning:
    Users cannot proceed if the Allocate value is '0'.

  7. Under Available Extensions, select the extension required and the number of allocations.

    Note:
    Users can still proceed if no extensions are selected.

  8. Click the Create Provisioning File button to proceed to the next page.
  9. Fill in the fields under User Information.

  10. Under Delivery Options, select either the download or the E-mail button.

    Note:
    If the email option is selected, be sure to fill the E-mail field under User Information with the email address to where the .pvrc file is to be sent.


    Note:
    If the download option is selected, the .pvrc file downloads to the computer to the user-specified file location.

  11. Click the Create Provisioning File button.
