FAQ: Can ArcGIS Engine Runtime Applications Run on Mobile Devices?

Answer

No. ArcGIS Engine Runtime applications, which are built with the ArcGIS Runtime SDK and a redistributable ArcGIS Engine Runtime, can only be run on ArcGIS for Desktop.

To create a custom built application for mobile devices, use the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for mobile devices.

Note:
ArcGIS Engine Runtime is the platform on which ArcGIS for Desktop is built; this allows users of ArcGIS for Desktop applications to execute custom applications based on ArcGIS Engine.
