Cannot modify or delete a child version when there is a dot in the user name

Description

When a child version is created by a user with a dot/period (.) in the user name, the child version cannot be modified or deleted with the Geodatabase Administration tool.

There is no error message returned by the delete version operation, but the bug persists.

Workaround

ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) SQL Server User Names With Special Characters Patch has been created to address this issue.

After Patch:

  1. Install and download the ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) SQL Server User Names With Special Characters Patch
  2. If it is not possible to download the patch above, the following workarounds are available:
    • Use the Delete Version geoprocessing tool
    • Use the sdeversion command line tool
