Error: An Oracle LPX-0019 Error Occurs When Inserting Data into an SDO

Error Message

An Oracle LPX-0019 error is returned when trying to store raster data in an Oracle SDO_GeoRaster field for Oracle 11g R2.

Cause

The Oracle XmlLoadDom function began returning the error at Oracle 11g R2.

The Oracle Corporation has opened the following bug:

12537431 - XMLLOADDOM FAILS WITH LPX-00019 WHEN SESSION IS CREATED WITH OCIENVNLSCREATE.

Oracle technical support has stated that this bug will be held at severity 2. To move it to a severity 1 position, end users encountering this issue must provide Oracle technical support a valid business case that would justify the elevation of the bug's severity to 1.

Solution or Workaround

Uninstall Oracle 11g R2 and install a previous version of Oracle until Oracle Corporation has provided a solution to this issue.

If the SDO_GeoRaster data type is being used for raster storage, use a previous version of Oracle such as Oracle 11g R1 or Oracle 10g.
