License Error: You must register the following thematic layers before you can use them in your map

Error Message

When opening the MXD file, a Business Analyst MXD file created in a version prior to version 10 may encounter the following error:

"License Error
You must register the following thematic layers before you can use them on your map. Please click the Help button below for information on activating your data license."

Cause

The licensing levels for the affected layers have changed.

Solution or Workaround

1. Click 'Close' to exit after encountering the error message.
   
   
2. In the Table of Contents, open the group layers. Look for red exclamation marks that indicate broken layers.
   
   
3. Right-click on one of the broken layers and select Properties.
4. Click on the Source tab, and click the Set Data Source button.
   
   Use the list below to create the new path to the layers:
   
   Major Lakes: ?\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\hydro. Double-click on the Lakes_NA.sdc. Highlight Lakes_NA to add.
   
   States labels (US): ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\census. Double-click on states.sdc to open it. Double-click on states_4 to add.
   
   States border (US): ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\census. Double-click on states.sdc to open it. Double-click on states_4 to add.
   
   States labels: ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\census. Double-click on states.sdc to open it. Double-click on states_4 to add.
   
   States labels (Regional): ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\census. Double-click on states.sdc to open it. Double-click on states_4 to add.
   
   Countries: ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Destop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMap\Background. Double-click on the nation.sdc and select nation_4.sdc.
   
   County labels: ?:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Business Analyst\Data\StreetMapData\census. Double-click on the counties.sdc.
