The Calculate Geometry tool generates out of range X and Y coordinates in decimal degrees when using a projected coordinate system

Description

Calculating X and Y coordinate values using the Calculate Geometry tool generate out of range values if the calculation is based on a projected coordinate system (PCS).

Cause

This is a known limitation at ArcGIS 10.

Workaround



Change the coordinate system of the Data Frame to a geographic coordinate system (GCS) and perform the geometry calculation using the GCS.
