HOW TO

Configure ArcGIS Server for the Java platform to use NTLMv2 authentication

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

By default, the ArcGIS Server Java Manager uses LM or NTLM authentication. To force the use of only NTLMv2 authentication, the Java Manager 'LAN Manager Authentication Level' parameter must be updated.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager.
  2. On the 'Home' panel, click 'Settings'.
  3. From the drop-down menu for the 'LAN Manager Authentication Level' parameter, select 'Send NTLMv2 response only'.
  4. Click Save. The Java Manager now uses only NTLMv2 authentication when sending user credentials to the ArcGIS SOM.
