SDE Error(-114) Wrong column type

Error Message

If the '-a option' is set to none when executing cov2sde and the target feature class uses either ST_Geometry or SDO_Geometry storage in an Oracle database, the following error is returned:

"SDE Error(-114) Wrong column type
'-a none' not supported with ST_GEOMETRY and SDO_GEOMETRY.
Please use '-a all' or '-a file=<file_name>' option."

Cause

Changes made in ArcSDE 10.0 to support table creation of native, DBMS, spatial types impact the way the cov2sde command and '-a none' options operate when creating layers that use the SDO_GEOMETRY or ST_GEOMETRY geometry storage type. This is a known limit.
