EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 39 Exit reason 5

Error Message

When using FlexNET 11.4 installed on a Sun Solaris machine, the ArcGIS License Manager fails and returns the following error message:

"EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 39 Exit reason 5".

Cause

Issues in FlexNET 11.4 for Solaris machines cause the License Manager daemon to randomly fail with the above error. The ArcGIS License Manager that is using FlexNET 11.4 has been superseded by a newer version of the ArcGIS License Manager, which uses FlexNET 11.6.

Solution or Workaround

Download and install the updated version of the ArcGIS License Manager, which uses FlexNET 11.6, from the following location: ArcGIS 9.x License Manager Update.

Previous ArcGIS 9.x license files may be used to complete the installation process for this version of the ArcGIS License Manager.
