Procedure

To create and manage enclosures in the metadata, follow the procedure below:

  1. Open ArcCatalog. In the Catalog tree, select the table or feature class to which an attachment is necessary.
  2. Click the Metadata tab.
  3. Click the Metadata Properties button on the Metadata toolbar.

    Note:
    If the Metadata toolbar is not already active, click View > Toolbars > Metadata.

  4. In the Metadata Properties dialog box, click the Enclosures tab.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Click the Browse button.
  7. Navigate to and click the file to attach. Click Open.
  8. If necessary, enter a description of the file.
  9. If the enclosed file is an image, such as a JPEG file, check the Image box.
  10. Click OK twice.
