Last Published: October 20, 2023

Summary

Note:
This article pertains to ArcGIS versions 9.x only. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.

Instructions provided describe how to copy selected annotation features into a new annotation feature class.

Procedure

Note:
This procedure assumes that a second annotation feature class has already been created in the geodatabase; the annotation features must be copied into this empty annotation feature class. This procedure is a modification of the ESRI Knowledge Base article linked in the Related Information section below.
  1. Start an edit session, and turn on the Annotation toolbar.
  2. Set the active annotation target to the original annotation feature class.
  3. Select the annotation features for the highway zone to be copied to the new annotation feature class with the Edit Annotation tool.
  4. Using the Edit Annotation tool, right-click the selected annotation features, and select Copy.
  5. Using the Edit Annotation tool, right-click the empty annotation feature class, and select Paste.
