Frequently asked question

Why is the data source name different from the service title?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

The service title is a working name that is easily recognized and easy to use and
remember. The service title can be in any format and it is how the Content Library references the data.

The data source name is the technical name used for developer access and it has to follow a specific format. The first part is the name of the data provider. The second part is the general description of the data.

When creating new content and naming a service title, the Builder will automatically complete the data source name. The general description of the data source name can be modified so that it differs from the service title.

Note:
The service name does not have to be different from the data source name.
