ERROR

User-defined class has the name of a class inside the ESRI Classes package (reserved)

Error Message

The ESRI Semantics Checker returns the following error:

"User-defined class has the name of a class inside the ESRI Classes package (reserved)."

Cause

A common cause is the Logical View package and Workspace package are both stereotyped as Workspace in the UML model.

Note:
User-defined classes should exist below the Workspace package.

Solution or Workaround

Remove the Logical View stereotype.

  1. Right-click on Logical View in the Model Explorer.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Select Package under Categories.
  4. Select the empty line in the Stereotype drop-down menu.
  5. Click OK.
