Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

Instructions provided describe how to change the number of decimal places displayed in the Edit Sketch Properties and Attributes dialog boxes.

Procedure

  1. Add data to ArcMap.
  2. On the Editor toolbar, click the Editor drop-down menu > Start Editing.
  3. Click Editor > Editing Options.
  4. In the Editing Options dialog box, select the General tab.
  5. Change the value for the 'Display measurements using [ x ] decimal places' setting.

    Note:
When the Edit Task is Modify Features, the Edit Sketch Properties dialog box displays vertex coordinates with the number of decimal places specified in the above setting.

    Note:
In the Attributes dialog box, this setting affects only Double data type values. All the decimal places for Float data type values are displayed regardless of the number of decimal places in the 'Display measurements using [ x ] decimal places' setting.

    Note:
This setting has no effect on the number of decimal places displayed in the layer attribute table. The layer attribute table column headers give access to the settings for column formatting.

  6. Click OK.
  7. If the Attributes or Edit Sketch Properties dialog box is open, close it for the new settings to take effect. Open the Attributes or the Edit Sketch Properties dialog box to see the changes.
