Some symbols are lost when exporting an ArcMap layout in PDF file

Description

** This issue is addressed in ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) **

Some symbols are lost, such as highway shields and some language-specific text such as Hebrew, when exporting a PDF file of an ArcMap layout through ArcIMS ArcMap Server and viewed on a machine that doesn't contain ESRI fonts.

Cause



This is a known issue.

Workaround



** This issue is addressed in ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
