Cannot create the INFO directory using Geoprocessing Coverage Tools

Description

Geoprocessing Coverage Tools in ArcGIS 9.0 creates an INFO directory in the bin folder under the installation directory of ArcGIS. The INFO directory is not created for users that do not have write access to the bin folder.

Cause

User does not have Administrative privileges or write access to the ArcGIS bin folder.

Solution or Workaround

1. Create a shortcut to the ArcCatalog and ArcMap executables on your desktop.
2. Right click on the ArcCatalog and ArcMap shortcuts individually and select Properties.
3. In the 'Start in' text box, type in the path to the folder to which you have write permissions.
