Output Image Quality setting on Print dialog affects ArcMap image exports

Description

** This issue is addressed in ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) **

The Output Image Quality setting, or OIQ slider, accessible from the print dialog box, affects raster layers in ArcMap image exports, such as .bmp, .jpeg, .tiff, .png and .gif.

This was causing image export formats be lower quality and downsampled for no apparent reason.

ArcMap vector export formats .emf, .eps, .ai, .pdf and .svg are not affected.

Cause



This is a known issue.

Workaround



** This issue is addressed in ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Click on the link in Related Information below and download Service Pack 2, if necessary. **



All export formats will now only be affected by the output image quality setting on the Export dialog.
