Bug: ArcSDE Multiband Raster displays incorrectly in blue tinge

Description

ArcSDE Multiband Raster displays incorrectly in blue tinge after applying the ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch.

Note the following information:

- ArcSDE Multiband Raster data is displayed with a blue tinge when served with ArcIMS 9.0 and ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch.
- The display color of the image was correct when serving the same map in ArcIMS 9.0.
- Applying the ArcIMS 9.0 Service Pack 1 over the ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch does not fix the problem.
- Installing ArcIMS 9.0 with Service Pack 1 alone does not cause any problem.

Cause

This is a known issue identified in ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch.

Workaround

Replacing the 'aimssderio.dll' file resolves the issue.

If the ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch have not been applied, this issue is not encountered.

Note:
The ArcIMS 9.0 Metadata Server and Spatial Server Patch is specific to Microsoft Windows only.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Stop ArcIMS Services in the following order:

    - ArcIMS Tasker
    - ArcIMS Monitor

When using a distributed setup with multiple spatial server machines, stop the ArcIMS Monitor service on all the machines where the Spatial Server is installed.

Rename the file aimssderio.dll to aimssderio.dll.orig.
  3. Click on the link in the Related Information section below to download the new .DLL and place it in the <ARCIMS INSTALL LOCATION>/Server/bin folder.
  4. Start the ArcIMS Services in this order:

    - ArcIMS Application Server.
    - ArcIMS Monitor
    - ArcIMS Montior, on all other machines in a distributed configuration
    - ArcIMS Tasker.
