Metadata is lost when importing, exporting, or geoprocessing

Note:
This issue has been resolved in ArcGIS 9.2.

When importing or exporting data, or running any of the geoprocessing methods on a single data source, the metadata from the input data is not carried over to the output data.

Cause

This is a known bug with ArcGIS 9.0.

Workaround

There is no workaround at this time.
