("esriGeoAnalyst.GridEngine") Could not open raster dataset from file

Error Message

The following error message appears after using the Combine tool.

"("esriGeoAnalyst.GridEngine") Could not open raster dataset from file"

Cause

A possible cause is too many unique values in the input rasters. This results in an output raster with too many unique values. The COMBINE tool cannot accept more than 10 million unique values.

Solution or Workaround

• Reclassifying the input data to have fewer unique values per raster.
• Resampling the input rasters to create fewer unique values per raster.
