Last Published: March 9, 2021

Summary

Instructions provided describe how to run the setup from a command line and install all features (a complete installation). The ArcGIS setups can run silently without any user intervention. The ADDLOCAL parameter is used to specify what installation features to install. See the install guide for the product being installed for additional command line options.

Note:
This article pertains to ArcGIS versions 9.x only. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.

Procedure

A complete installation can be accomplished using the command line to run the setup.msi directly.

The following command is an example showing the parameter required to install all features; other parameters may be required, depending on the product. See the install guide on the product being installed for information on all required command line parameters.

Run the following command from the command line to perform a complete installation:

Msiexec /i <setup location>\setup.msi /qb ADDLOCAL=ALL
