Answer
Does starting INFO in an AML &data block create a temporary file?
Yes. For example, the following AML program simple.aml uses an &DATA block to start INFO. Run the AML from the Arc: prompt in an ArcInfo workspace. The AML creates a temporary file with a name like xx0001236.s. The temporary file is created in the current workspace. The temporary file is deleted when the INFO session ends.
Code:
/* simple.aml ****************************
/* Run this AML at the Arc: prompt.
/*
&data arc info
ARC
SLEEP 15 /* Keeps xx file around for a bit
QUIT STOP
&end
/* ********* End of simple.aml***********
