VBScript Script engine not supported on this system

Error Message

When opening ArcPad the following error is returned:

"VBScript script engine not supported on this system."

It is also possible that no error will be returned, and ArcPad shuts down immediately after startup.

Cause

The VBScript Runtime Library, which ArcPad requires, is no longer included in ROM with Windows Mobile 2003.

Solution or Workaround

1. Establish an ActiveSync connection between your desktop PC and Pocket PC.
2. On your desktop PC, click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > ArcPad > Install VBScript Runtime Library for Windows CE.
3. Follow the instructions on your screen.
