What is the optimal size of a StreetMap dataset?

Answer

There's no simple answer. The primary factors in deciding on the size of a dataset are the end use of the data and the capabilities of the mobile device being used. Whether the data covers 10 square miles or a thousand square miles, there should be no trouble using it if there is enough RAM present on the Windows CE device.

It is important to remember that the geographic area covered by a dataset is not related to the complexity of the street network used in routing.
