ArcGIS AutoSetup causes the computer to continue to log into administrator account

Description

After completing the AutoSetup of ArcGIS the computer continues to automatically login under the administrative account that was used to install the software.

Cause

The AutoLogin procedure that was activated during the installation of ArcGIS was not disabled when the install completed.

Use either of the procedures below while still logged in to the machine as an administrator to resolve the problem.
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Users and Passwords, and click the Users tab. Check the box labeled Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
  • Use Microsoft's TweakUI for your version of the Windows operating system. Open TweakUI, and click the Logon tab. Uncheck the box labeled Log on automatically at System Startup. Visit the Microsoft Downloads page to download TweakUI.
