How To: Find the geocoding index table for an ArcSDE Geocoding Service

Summary

Use the sdelocator command to find the database table that contains the geocoding index used by an ArcSDE Geocoding Service.

Procedure

  1. At a command-prompt, issue the 'sdelocator -o describe' command. For the '-n' parameter, provide the name of the geocoding service as it appears on the ArcSDE connection in ArcCatalog.
    Code:
    sdelocator -o describe -n "myArcCatalog Geocoding Service Name"
    -i 5151 -s myserver -u username -p password

  2. Near the bottom of the command output is an item: RD.Val.IdxTable1. The value of that item is the name of the table in the database that is used by the geocoding service as a geocoding index.

    EXAMPLE OUTPUT:

    Code:

    ...
    RD.Val.Table1.ID = OBJECTID
    RD.Val.Table1.Shape = Shape
    RD.Val.Table1 = username.indexed_layer
    RD.Val.IdxTable1 = username.GC_SS585
